Q: Can Copper State Auctions provide me with just an on-site estate sale or tag sale?

A: We recommend the auction method of marketing because we feel it brings a diverse audience and creates an exciting atmosphere.  Plus, all of your property, not just your best or most valuable, will realize its fullest potential and bring fair market value through the auction method.  Even though we have years of experience at selling and can offer an appraisal value range on your property, selling through auction allows the buyers to set the price of an item; oftentimes this value will exceed expectations or previously set values or appraisals.  Further, our automated system allows for accurate and timely accounting of all purchases and items sold – it provides a quick and efficient means for the buyer to pay and remove the items from the premises.  And, unlike an estate tag sale, there are no discounts given at any time during the sale ensuring you the greatest value realized.  Because of our sorting and marketing methods, our auctions allow for a 98% sell rate on your property.  This means that the few items that remain after the sale can be donated as directed.  Finally, by the end of the auction day, all items are removed from the premises and your home is cleared.

Q: Are you licensed?

A: Yes.  Copper State Auctions is fully licensed to operate as a Secondhand Used Merchandise Dealer in all cities and municipalities in which it conducts an auction.  Further, all auctioneers are fully licensed to auction property and goods at auction.  Copper State Auctions is also a member of the National Auctioneers Association with designation as a Certified Estate Specialist, members of The Chamber of Commerce, registered with the State of Arizona to conduct auctions and is a licensed business authorized to conduct sales in all cities and municipalities where auctions are held. Q: What are your fees?

A: As a policy we do not publicly advertise our fee schedule and consignment rate. We encourage anyone considering selling items at auction to contact us before making a decision to contract with any other provider. We will go over all costs involved to sell items at auction as well as what services we provide and the many benefits of doing business with us.  Even if we are not the best choice for your situation, we will do our best to guide you in a direction that best meets your needs – free of charge!

Q: Do you sell your items at auction with reserves or a reserve price?

A: Copper State Auctions are most successful with an absolute auction; this means an auction without reserve prices.  Typically, you will get more for items sold without a reserve.  A no reserve auction creates an incomparable and exciting atmosphere that will typically get a higher sales price for items than items with a reserve.

Q: What does “absolute” and “no reserve” mean?

A: An absolute or no reserve means that the items for sale will sell regardless of an amount that is bid.  This also means that there are no minimum bids or opening bids.

Q: Do you handle forced sales and bankruptcies?

A: Yes, we are experienced at handling theses situations.

Q: Can I bring my items to you to sell rather than my location?

A: Typically we conduct auctions, on-site at your residence.  Please call us to discuss items that you would like to sell through consignment.

Q: How long does it take to get my auction booked?

A: Typically, we ask for about four to six weeks preparation before holding the auction.  This allows sufficient time to get the items sorted, setup, photographed and inventoried.  It also allows us to get the word out about the auction. Advertising is one of the most important steps of having a successful auction.  On average, we are booked three to four months in advance; if you would like an auction, please call us as soon as possible.  Occasionally, we can fit an auction into our calendar given certain circumstances . . . so give us a call right a way to see if we can help.

Q: Why have an auction instead of just selling at a yard sale, garage sale, consignment shop, tag sale, estate sale or liquidation sale?

A: Auctions typically get fair market value for all of your items.  Most sellers need to clear an entire house; an auction is the most efficient way to completely clear personal property from a home; an entire house can usually be cleared in a few hours.  An auction also saves you time and labor, and is the most stress-free way of selling items. Q: Can you have the auction at my deceased family members’ home?

A: Absolutely, we specialize in the on-site auction of Estates, business liquidations, furniture, artwork, household items, personal property, antiques and collectibles.
